Local Dunedin start-up – The Craft Meat Company has launched a 100 percent plant-based mince. The No Meat Mince is made using uses ingredients such as mushrooms, tomato, almonds, coconut oil and soy protein. The new product is the first of the alternative meat range to be launched by the company and closely resembles traditional mince. It is designed to be cooked into meals exactly as regular mince would.
The product will target Kiwis that want to reduce their meat consumption or who do not eat meat at all. The Craft Meat Company plans to expand it no meat range to include sausages, patties and ready-made meals.
