This year at Anuga, we found once again that 99 percent of innovation, not only in functionality but packaging and trends as well, was in the beverage sector.
Alternative plant solutions was a trending innovation found in beverage and scattered across other categories as well. Increasingly more products used plants as a base of their formula as a protein alternative. For example this was used in energy drinks and smoothies as a botanical boost. It was also interesting to find more and more products coloured naturally instead of using artificial food colouring.
