Stickman is branching out and dipping his toe into new and uncharted waters with a prototype small format super-savey store in bustling Levin.  The fresh, new concept picks up where the discounter Write Price leaves off with an innovative approach to delivering New Zealand’s lowest prices.

PAK’nSAVE MINI will offer around 2,500 key products in a revamped layout.  Compare this to a standard PAK’nSAVE; a big box retailer with around 8,000 SKU’s. It’s a whole new ball game.

FRESH COLLECTIVE DELIVERS FRESH APPROACH TO RETAIL REFRIGERATION

It’s already one of the coolest new supermarkets in the country – with an in-store barista, pizza oven and wine dispenser – but there’s another part of Fresh Collective Alberton Ave that makes it especially sophisticated: its state of the art refrigeration.

Known as a ‘water loop’ refrigeration system because it uses a closed circuit of water to cool the refrigerant inside the store’s chillers and freezers, its key benefit is a lot less power consumption – typically 20 percent less than standard supermarket fridges.

Commissioned by Foodstuffs North Island specifically for the new Fresh Collective store in Mt Albert, Auckland, it’s the first time such a system has been installed in a New Zealand supermarket.

ZETA GROUP AHEAD OF THE PACK

The nappy is forever changing, and there are plenty of opportunities for physical development. Zeta Group is releasing a new nappy this month, one which Oceania Sales Manager Stephen Taylor said will revolutionise the nappy game. “It will have a major impact on the market – there’s simply nothing else like it available,” he said.

The new nappies feature a new ultra-thin absorbent inner core using non-traditional materials; as a result, this will provide an even better absorbent performance according to Taylor. The absorbent crystals are crushed and distributed throughout the nappy rather than simply in the base, which avoids the sagging so often seen in conventional nappies.
