FOOD PRICES DROPPED AGAIN IN NOVEMBER

The Food Price Index has dropped once again, showing a year-on-year decrease of 0.2 percent in November, Statistics New Zealand has announced.
Compared with October 2015, fruit and vegetable prices saw the biggest drop, down 3.8 percent; the average price of tomatoes was $2.84 per kilo in November 2015, compared with $5.69 in October 2015 and $3.47 in November 2014.
In the same time-span, grocery food fell 0.1 percent and meat and fish rose 1.6 percent.
