NEW SUPERMARKET NOW OPEN IN PAPAKURA

After New World Te Kuiti, Pak’nSave Tamatea in Napier, and Pak’nSave Tauriko in Tauranga, Foodstuffs has launched its fourth North Island store in four months, New World Papakura.

The new 1,615 sqm supermarket, nearly double the size of the previous store, has just opened its doors in Papakura CBD. It includes 152 carparks along with wider aisles and more checkouts. The supermarket is also eco-friendly thanks to CO2 refrigeration, energy-efficient lighting and rainwater harvesting systems.

Sustainability is a major focus for us,” said Peter Lynch, owner-operator of New World Papakura. “As well as providing a soft plastics recycling bin at the front of our store, we’ll continue to offer New World’s discount for those who bring their own reusable bags. We are also aiming to divert at least 80 percent of our waste away from landfill.”
