New World and Griffin’s have partnered with the New Zealand Blood Service (NZBS) to help Kiwis find out their blood type and sign-up to become a blood donor at New World supermarkets across the country.
NZBS is always looking for new donors, and blood type knowledge may be a first step towards becoming a lifesaver. What’s My Type teams will be on hand to have a chat at selected New World stores across the country. Consumers will have to undergo a quick finger prick test to find out if they are A, B, O or AB. And will be rewarded with a Griffin’s biscuit afterwards.
Working together New World, Griffin’s and NZBS hope to shine a light on the importance of becoming a blood donor and help encourage more people to consider joining the donor registry.
Less than 4 percent of eligible New Zealanders currently donate blood and the NZBS needs to collect over 3,000 donations every week in order to meet demand. Click here to check out the schedule across 70 New World supermarkets during February and March.
