NON-ALCOHOLIC GINGER BEER RECALLED AFTER ALCOHOL FOUND

Non-alcoholic ginger is being taken off supermarket shelves after it was discovered that the beverage contained beer. Lion Dairy and Drinks has begun recalling its Mac’s Non-Alcoholic Ginger Beer with the best before date of March 20 and 21, 2019 after it was alerted that some bottles had been incorrectly labelled and in fact contained alcohol.

“We have been notified of two bottles of Mac’s Ginger beer in this batch that have been found to be incorrectly labelled and actually contain one of the Mac’s beer range. Our investigations indicate it’s highly unlikely that any more product is impacted but we take the matter very seriously and have initiated a full recall of the batch as a precautionary measure,” said a spokesperson for Lion.

Lion has apologised to consumers, offering a full refund to those affected by the recall.
