NZACS UPDATE | Dave Hooker, Executive Director NZACS
“Service stations with convenience stores are considered an essential service as part of the fuel supply chain.
We are working with retail NZ and government to urgently gain clarity around convenience stores without fuel and their right to stay open as an essential service. This is based on their wide regional footprint and the fact that they represent a safer and more convenient shopping opportunity for many than a large supermarket.
Various media outlets have published the following list overnight indicating that convenience stores should be allowed to stay open.
All published events are on hold until further notice. NZACS still intends to produce a State of the Industry report however the timing on this is yet to be determined.”
