This year’s NACS Show broke records, achieving 25,159 attendees for the first time and seeing a seven percent increase in buyers from previous years. The annual four-day event attracted visitors from 72 counties and had a substantial increase in the number of registrations for the show from retailers and convenience distributors. Buyer attendance increased 10.5 percent this year compared to two years ago.
Covering 431,800 net square feet, the expo also set a record for its size, in comparison to 2017’s 425,800 net square feet venue. With over 1,250 exhibitors participating, the show definitely needed the extra space. 182 first-time exhibitors also displayed in the NACS Show New Exhibition area.
The show hosted 64 education sessions that covered topics relevant to the foodservice industry such as food safety, leadership development, category management, marketing and technology and held four general sessions.
“No matter where you are from or how many stores you operate, if you take one good idea and bring it back to your business from the NACS Show, your business will improve, and you will be successful,” said Frank Gleeson, NACS 2018-2019 chairman and president of Aramark Northern Europe, Dublin, Ireland.
