New Zealand’s favourite chicken has a fresh new look. With a revitalised, modern design, it will appeal to both cost and quality-conscious consumers, as well as boosting Tegel’s rapid growth in the free range segment.
The new look is part of the largest FMCG launch this year, with a $3.5 million investment to drive value and volume growth across the board led by category and shopper insight.
This comprises of packaging redesign, product innovation, and extensive ATL & BTL brand support featuring TV, print, digital, PR and in-store activation.
The first stage of Tegel’s product innovation includes the launch of the new Tegel Free Range Meal Maker and the Tegel Sliced Chicken range, available in the chilled deli aisle of your supermarket from August 22nd.
The Meal Maker range is currently worth $7.6 million and is in massive growth, increasing by 17.7 percent* compared to pre-packed chicken (+5.2 percent*), and smallgoods (+2.1 percent). As part of this growth, Tegel is launching two new varieties: Tegel Free Range Meal Maker Classic Sliced Chicken and Tegel Free Range Meal Maker Cracked Pepper Shredded Chicken. Both are priced in line with the current range with an RRP of approximately $10 per 250g pack.
Made with 100 percent chicken breast, the Sliced Chicken range comes in a handy 140-150g twin pack. Available in Sliced Roast Chicken, Sliced Smoky Chicken, and Sliced Pepper Chicken, at an RRP of $3.79 each.
