Nate Pealer decided to test himself in the kitchen one day, and raw coffee beans were his target. Six years on, the owner of Sunup Green Coffee spoke to the team about his unique product.
What is your company background, how did you start the business?
“We started making green coffee in our home kitchen in 2011. The idea was simple – let’s make a simple coffee using the raw coffee bean. It started as a home culinary challenge and eventually it tasted pretty great so I thought other people would like it too!”
What is the current product range and variants and how do these products stand out in the market?
“About three weeks ago we launched our brand-new PURE GREEN COFFEE products. They are totally unique in the market because we make coffee with green coffee beans instead of the traditional roasting process. Sunup now comes in Unsweetened, Stevia and Cane Sugar varieties. All our products are vegan, gluten free, GMO free and BPA-free.”
Has there been any recent company news?
“We used to have just one product in glass bottles and we discontinued that one… the new products are now available in New York City!”
What are the plans for the business moving forward, is there any expansion on the horizon?
“Sunup Pure Green Coffee sells in about 30 natural food stores in New York City and we are looking to distribute to more natural food shops in the area and eventually a larger region.”
Where are your products currently available to buy, and are you looking at or wanting to expand your availability?
“Our web shop will have the new products available within a few days! We have a lot of customers outside New York City who would like to see Sunup in health markets and groceries closer to them and we hope to help them out!”
