Grocery chain BJ’s has added a tinder inspired online shopping feature called the ‘Discover Experience’ to its app. The grocery app allows users to either swipe right to add a product to their wish list or swipe left if they don’t want it. The Discover Experience is then personalised through machine-based learning from a customer’s previous swipes.
“By swiping right on a personalised selection of products, members can build their own wish lists. This new feature is easy to use, and we believe it makes our app fun as well as convenient,” said Rafeh Masood chief digital officer.
BJ’s first launched its app in October last year to enhance customers shopping experience. The app previously featured digital coupons and displayed gas prices among other things.
