Lidl, SPAR, Dunnes Stores, Coop Norge, REWE, Conad, ICA and Real have been named as category winners in the second-annual European Private Label Awards, organised by European Supermarket Magazine in association with M.A.D.E.
Lidl Netherlands was the big winner of this year’s competition, taking the top prize in three award categories: Ambient Grocery, Non-Alcoholic Beverages and Convenience Foods.
In addition, Irish retailer Dunnes Stores took the top spot in two categories – Frozen Food and Tea, Coffee and Hot Drinks, while SPAR also took two honours, one for SPAR International, who won the Confectionery and Snacking category and one for SPAR Netherlands who took out Beverages – Alcoholic.
Elsewhere, REWE took the top prize in the Dairy Products category, Coop Norge was named the winner in the Meat and Seafood category, ICA won the Non-Food (Household) category, Conad took the spoils in Non-Food (Personal Care), and Real was named the winner in the Pet Care category.
