Founded in 2009 by Rachael Carter, SOHO utilises the Carter family vineyards & other boutique estates, we have chosen 3 of the best NZ winemakers from Waiheke Island, Marlborough & Central Otago – giving each wine its own distinctive style & personality.

SupermarketNews chatted to Amber Hatton, global sales manager for Soho, about the brand and its award-winning wines.

What characteristics of your wine are influenced by the physical landscape of your winery?

“Rather than being influenced by the physical landscape SOHO is inspired by the SoHo districts around the world & reflective of that social network & camaraderie. While SOHO respects the traditional winemaking process, it pushes boundaries operating an unconventional ethos rooted in creativity.”

Food Pairing?

“Fresh salmon sashimi.”

How long can you shelf your winning bottle of wine for?

“This rosé is best enjoyed while the aromatics & acidity are fresh. Now until 2023.”

Who would your wine appeal to?

“SOHO White Collection Harry Rosé has wide appeal & is a versatile wine to be enjoyed with food or alone.”

How would you describe this wine to someone who's never had this grape varietal/blend before?

“Summer in a glass! Beautifully aromatic on the nose with fresh summer berries on the palate but finishing deliciously dry.

If you could do a wine bottle swap with any winery in NZ or the world, which winery and wine would it be with?
