A Team Effort for World Food Day

This year, millions of people around the world and here in New Zealand, are facing the widespread effects of the global COVID-19 pandemic.
It’s more important than ever to come together and celebrate the importance that food plays in our diverse cultures and to raise awareness about food insecurity faced by our most vulnerable communities.
As food producers, it’s also an opportunity to celebrate the dedication that every individual and business contributing to the food supply chain brings; growing, producing, preparing and distributing food despite these unprecedented times.
Forty Thieves has teamed up with Bread and Butter, Barker's of Geraldine and Kokako to hand out 500 PB+J sandwiches (and a cup of coffee!) at Cotto on K'Rd to anyone who may be hungry or even just want a chat.
"We will be accepting a gold coin donation (physical or via paywave!) which will be donated to Auckland City Mission," said marketing director Shyr Godfrey at Forty Thieves. "We have chosen to work with this charity as they are have seen an overwhelming increase in the demand for their services since the first Covid-19 Lockdown. ACM will be reaching out to their community to ensure anyone nearby that is hungry can come along for a free sandwich."
