Introducing New Zealand’s First Supermarket Eatery at New World Brookfield

Tacos, freshly-squeezed juices and poke bowls are now on the menu at New World Brookfield, which is soon to be the home of New Zealand’s first supermarket eatery when it opens this September.

The store will add Ha! Poke Bowls, Ha! Juices and Taco Joint powered by Mexicali Fresh food stalls to its food-to-go offering, complementing the store’s existing café which is famous for its great quality coffee and wholesome food. The store café is set to add pizzas, burgers, and other hot meal options extending its offering into the evening for quick and easy dinners.

Brendon Good, New World Brookfield owner operator, saw an opportunity to maximise the store’s foyer space and deliver an elevated fresh to-go offering that was akin to a metropolitan food hall.

“The team and I have been tinkering with an idea like this for the past couple of years now,” says Good. “Our customers are looking for healthy, fresh meal options that are great value, convenient and something the whole family can enjoy. We’ve seen significant growth for our ready-to-heat, ready-to-eat or ready-to-cook offerings over the last couple of years now, with our customer favourites being our in-store pizzas, Simply Dinner kits, Pluto Juice Soup and Salad Bar offering at our deli, and hot chicken bundles. The arrival of Ha! Poke Bowls, Ha! Juices and Taco Joint is another simple, delicious, food-to-go offering that our customers will love.”

The eatery is set to cater for busy families who need a quick, easy, and healthy ‘what’s for dinner’ solution.

The eatery will be managed by New World Brookfield staff when it first opens, and the menus will feature delicious meals for meat lovers, vegetarians, and vegans to enjoy. The store will add more seating giving customers the option to either eat in or take away. The store will also run promotions for the eatery, so customers should keep an eye on the New World Brookfield Facebook page to stay in the loop.

“Our customers are amazing – throughout lockdown they were patient and kind towards our staff and one another,” finished Good. “We’re very much looking forward to bringing them a New Zealand first with our new eatery.”
