Kiwi Quinoa has 20 percent higher protein content than other imported quinoas. Grown in the central North Island, Kiwi Quinoa is on a mission to increase quinoa consumption in New Zealand.
In 2015 the company began importing a special variety which they have the sole licence for in New Zealand. This special quinoa is known as a 'sweet variety' due to it containing no bitter saponins which are usually found in other quinoa varieties.
