Nairn’s, one of the world’s leading producers of oat-based products, has an exciting addition to its range of healthy oat biscuits with the introduction of new Coconut & Chia Oat Biscuits. Each Coconut & Chia Oat biscuit has 55 percent less sugar than the average sweet biscuit currently on the market and cleverly combines the health benefits of wholegrain oats, with two of the world’s most popular ingredients – coconut and chia. The result is a great-tasting, low sugar biscuit, which follows the same simple, natural and wholesome philosophy that the whole Nairn’s range is known for.

Jaimee Freeman, Nairn’s New Zealand marketing manager said the launch could have come at a better time. “New Zealand has one of the highest consumption rates of sugar in the western world, with Kiwis eating six times the daily recommendation. With polls over the past few years showing that consumers are worried about sugar and overwhelmingly supportive of restrictions on sugary food and drinks, we’re confident that our Coconut & Chia Oat Biscuits will appeal to a wide proportion of the market.

“Reducing sugar content vs. the market average has always been one of our main priorities when it comes to developing our sweet products.  Our new Coconut & Chia Oat Biscuits shows our ongoing commitment to creating biscuits that not only taste great but are also healthy and are lower in sugar and calories.”
