Heartland has introduced its latest chip creation to the supermarket shelves - Maple Bacon. The flavour was developed after many brainstorming sessions around a sweet and savoury flavour that would work well on a potato chip.
"Sweet and savoury works so well on popcorn and other snack foods such as salted caramel chocolate, so why not on a chip?" said general manager Charlotte Bowan.
Potatoes used in the product come from the family farm a few kilometres up the road from the factory in South Canterbury, so quality is controlled from earth to table.
