ANNIES

Annies fruit bars have long been a Kiwi lunchbox favourite, and are about to launch a new product line. The team spoke to Antony Burke from Annies to find out more.

What is your company background, how did you start the business?

“Annies are a proudly owned New Zealand brand that has been making delicious and healthy fruit snack options for over 30 years. What began as a cottage industry business is now owned by Kono, a premium Māori brand representing the highest quality food and beverages from New Zealand.”

What are the current product range and variants and how do these products stand out in the market?

“Annies fruit bars are made by air drying 100% fruit. Tasty and nourishing, crisp New Zealand apples are combined with a selection of summer fruits picked at their best. It really is that simple, and easy to see why Annies are a product range perfect for allergy sufferers.”

Has there been any recent company news?

“Keep an eye out for Annies latest product, Fruit Bites – delicious bite-sized pieces available in two flavours, Mango Passion and Mixed Berry. If the market research is anything to go by these are going to be a very popular lunchbox item.”

What are the plans for the business moving forward, is there any expansion on the horizon?

“Now under the ownership of Kono NZ, innovation has become another key term at Annies, and you’ll see new products being released as the team perfects its offerings. To complement the already popular flavour range of Boysenberry, Apricot, Strawberry, Raspberry and Mango Passion, Annies have developed a Banana Blueberry bar due to be released in April 17.”

Where are your products currently available to buy, and are you looking at or wanting to expand your availability?

“Annies products are currently available in all major supermarkets and can be found in the fresh fruit and vegetable department.”
