HAVANA COFFEE WORKS

For 28 years, Havana Coffee Works has worked towards creating a unique blend of coffee for it's customers.

What is your company background, how did you start the business?

"Havana began in 1989 with the launch of Midnight Espresso and Café Deluxe – both in Wellington & both still pumping 28 years later. So Havana Coffee Works was born out of the need for superb coffee to supply our own cafes."

What are the current product range and variants and how do these products stand out in the market?

"In hospitality & corporate we sell 15 single origins and seven blends and in grocery, we have five different blends of coffee. The neat thing about our coffee is that it is the COFFEEUFEEL. Our products stand out through their unique, vibrant, multi-coloured packaging and excellent quality product."

Has there been any recent company news?

"The company is going from strength to strength and we have just released our new Super Deluxe blend in a hot pink bag and it’s flying out the door!"

What are the plans for the business moving forward, is there any expansion on the horizon?

"We are needing to add a bigger plant and still love investing in people and our motto is “you can pick your nose, but you can’t pick your customer” but it’s all about the customer at Havana."

Where are your products currently available to buy, and are you looking at or wanting to expand your availability?

"Our super-premium products are available in great cafes around New Zealand, Moore Wilsons Fresh and Moore Wilsons Grocery, also really unusual and unique places you wouldn’t expect it – but alongside other amazing products and also in both Progressive and Foodstuffs. In the future, we are looking forward to having a couple of our very special products in Farro Fresh although - we haven’t spoken to them yet - we are waiting for their call."
