Stripped Jerky is handcrafted in small batches using prime New Zealand grass-fed beef. Untainted by nitrates, artificial flavours, preservatives or colours. They’ve changed jerky forever so Kiwis can snack guilt free knowing what’s going down is all good.
What is your company background, how did you start the business?
After a winter in the Colorado Rockies Mike developed an understated obsession with all things jerky. On return to God’s Own, however, the depressing lack of quality jerky available was gleamingly obvious, so Mike set about learning how to make it. Years rolled by as the home made jerky’s quality improved and the flavours evolved Mike’s obsession became contagious and more and more of his friends and family were requesting ‘that good jerky’ so in 2017 he started Stripped Jerky. An all natural jerky made with 100% New Zealand grass-fed beef.
What is the current product range and variants and how do these products stand out in the market?
We have four products available in two sizes 40g and 80g:
- The Pioneer - Our original beef jerky which is a smoked, salty little number.
- SGT Pepper - Our 4 pepper beef jerky is a delightfully spicy romp that tingles the taste buds.
- Sumo Cowboy - Our Kiwi take on the classic Japanese Teriyaki.
- Que Sriracha - Our Thai chilli beef jerky. Nice and spicy!
All our jerky is made will 100% NZ grown grass-fed beef. It has over 18grams of protein in a single serve! (single serve is only 40g). It has no artificial preservatives, flavours or colours. It is nitrate free, dairy free, soon to be gluten free (waiting on results). Zero sugar for SGT Pepper and The Pioneer and less than 2% sugar for Sumo Cowboy and Que Sriracha. It is without a doubt the ultimate portable protein pack!
They each have their own epic package designed by local and international artists and of course all our jerky is handcrafted in small batches by the great New Zealander's at Stripped Jerky HQ, Sydenham, Christchurch.
What are the plans for the business moving forward, is there any expansion on the horizon?
Absolutely we are planning on expansion! That's the whole point right?
