Winter is chocolate season and the Cadbury Coco range of elegantly thin, refined dark chocolate is a delicious little indulgence anyone can enjoy as they unwind and relax. Sustaining momentum from the launch of Cadbury’s premium dark chocolate range in 2016, discerning palates will delight in the crunch of candied pecans, a sprinkle of salt and lingering rich cocoa flavour found in new Cadbury Coco Sea Salt & Pecan.  A welcomed new addition to the range.

Made with 70 percent cocoa, the new special edition flavour is crafted from fine quality cocoa, carefully selected and refined to deliver an elegantly smooth dark chocolate experience.

Cadbury Coco Sea Salt & Pecan joins four mouth-watering dark chocolate flavours that make up the Cadbury Coco 100g block range; 70% Cocoa, Mint, Orange and 86% Cocoa.

HOGARTH CRAFT CHOCOLATE

Hogarth Craft Chocolate is challenging what Kiwis know about chocolate. Unhappy with the industrialised and now homogenised flavour of regular offerings, Marina and Karl Hogarth set out to create chocolate that expressed the natural flavour characteristics of the cocoa bean.

What makes Hogarth different is the use of speciality fine flavoured cocoa which makes up only a small percentage of world cocoa production. Then using careful roasting and grinding techniques they bring to life the natural fruit and spice flavour notes inherent in the cocoa bean. Like grapes & wine, cocoa has an expression of terroir, so chocolate made from beans of various regions all taste different.

Hogarth has a range of single origin dark chocolate bars featuring cocoa from Fiji, Madagascar, Haiti, Peru & Dominican Republic, and they have two flavoured bars, the first incorporates Nelson hazelnuts and the second is a collaboration with chef Simon Gault which uses their 70 percent Madagascar dark chocolate infused with Rose and Vanilla Tea.

Hogarth’s dedication has paid off, with the business recently winning one Gold and two Silver awards at the prestigious Academy of Chocolate Awards in London, and four Gold Awards at International Chocolate Awards in New York, thought to be a first for a New Zealand chocolate brand.

QUEEN ANNE

In 2011, the Queen Anne factory opened in Christchurch and the chocolates today are made using tried and trusted recipes of Sarah Adams’ grandfather, iconic baker Ernest Adams. In the last year, the quintessentially Kiwi chocolates continue to grow as a brand and in flavour sourcing only the best ingredients to deliver to Queen Anne lovers around the country.

Today, the look and feel of the brand has had a bit of a refresh, to keep on-trend and in-line with consumer demand. Not only are the margins generous for the retailer, the chocolates have been developed into an everyday indulgence. While still continuing the traditionally seasonal boxed chocolates, Queen Anne has launched a new handcrafted retro Marshmellow Bar (55g), that is the perfect-sized treat for consumers.

Matched to the original Queen Anne recipe, the dark chocolate fits the NZ flavour profile perfectly, and isn’t too bitter. The new marshmellow bars are available in vibrant and delicious flavours like Boysenberry, Caramel, and Raspberry, in milk or dark chocolate.

In capturing a new audience, and developing new flavours, the brand has been refreshed, fits in with current consumer needs and is ready to find its way home into New Zealand supermarkets and consumers hearts once again. For more information, to order (and maybe get a sample), call 03 357 0085.
