New Zealanders have voted for their favourite winter soup or homemade meal that Pitango will be bringing to supermarket shelves this chilly season. Winning with 41 percent of the votes, was the Pitango Thai Chicken Noodle Soup.
“Our customers are our influence when it comes to creating a new variant or flavour for Pitango, so when we were looking for inspiration for our new Soup of the Season, we, of course, went to our customers asking for their ideas for a new Pitango soup flavour.” Said Mary Boulton, Commercial Director for Pitango New Zealand.
30 new meal flavours were submitted to Pitango from customers across the country, followed with over 5,000 customers engaging in the voting process on social media. Participants of the campaign also went into the draw to win a $200 Pitango Kitchen Pack.
“We got some great ideas through this process, including Chilli and Chicken Dumpling
Soup and even Bloody Mary Soup, but the Thai Chicken Noodle was unmistakably the most popular.”
“We had a lot of fun running this across our social media channels late last year.”
The new Pitango Free Range Thai Chicken Noddle soup is made and packed fresh, with no added preservatives or sugar. The chicken pieces and veggies are simmered in coconut cream and blended with Thai green curry paste for a meal full of flavour. It can be heated in as little as three minutes and is the perfect selection for lunch or dinner.
It will be available in supermarkets from the beginning of May.
