Bennetto Natural Foods co is a small company based in Christchurch, their simple goal is to make great chocolate that is planet friendly and a great price. They currently produce Fairtrade, organic and vegan certified chocolate products from single origin cocoa in their own facility and in partnership with a bean to bar, carbon neutral manufacturer in Switzerland.

Their latest range of 100g chocolate bars offers exciting flavour combinations through entirely natural ingredients, high cocoa percentages and free form soy, dairy or preservatives.  As all cocoa is carefully sourced from small-scale farming cooperatives in Peru and Ecuador they produce a vibrant full flavour chocolate that despite the high cocoa percentage is not bitter and appeals to both foodies and the eco-enthusiasts.

They are thrilled to introduce their new 30g mini bar range in three delicious flavours – Raspberry, Coconut and Coffee bean, and are now accepting pre-orders for an early June release.

Whittaker’s New Caramel

Since they started making chocolate over 120 years ago, Whittaker’s have always believed that best is better. That’s why they have spent three years crafting a new creamier, smoother and more velvety caramel filling.

And now, after years of trialling and tasting, tweaking their recipe 59 times, Andrew and Brian are finally happy. Delighted in fact. So much so that they have included their new caramel in two delicious new blocks.

The first is the Creamy Caramel. Here, Whittaker’s luscious caramel is covered in their super smooth, 5 Roll Refined, 33% cocoa Creamy Milk chocolate.

Then, for the Dark Chocolate Lovers, Whittaker’s added a delightful hint of salt to their caramel before smothering it in decadent 62% dark chocolate.

These are two blocks that you will want to stock from the start.

In 2011, the Queen Anne factory opened in Christchurch and the chocolates today are made using the tried and trusted recipes of Sarah Adams’ grandfather, iconic baker Ernest Adams.

Today, the look and feel of the brand has had a bit of a refresh, to keep on-trend and in-line with consumer demand. Not only are the margins generous for the retailer, the chocolates have been developed into an everyday indulgence. While continuing the traditionally seasonal boxed chocolates, Queen Anne’s range of handcrafted retro Marshmallow Bars (55g) has been growing in popularity with consumers.

The marshmallow bars are available in vibrant and delicious flavours like Boysenberry, Caramel, and Raspberry, in milk or dark chocolate. The Dark Chocolate Boysenberry Bar was a Finalist and Highly Commended in the Artisan Category of the NZFOOD Awards 2017.
