A Smarter Way To Save On Groceries

A Smarter Way To Save On Groceries - Club+ Dollars

New World, PAK’nSAVE and Four Square have launched Club+, a new, smarter rewards and benefits programme focused on helping customers save money and find value across every shop.

From the 15th of June, customers can use their Club+ card to get more from their shop at New World, PAK’nSAVE and Four Square. The launch marked a major milestone for the Foodstuffs North Island and Foodstuffs South Island co-operatives, bringing their brands together on a single customer platform for the first time.

Club+ makes it easier for customers to earn rewards and find value across the co-operative’s family of brands, however they choose to shop.

Brendon Lawry, Acting Chief Customer Officer at Foodstuffs New Zealand, said the programme was designed to evolve alongside changing customer expectations and technological advancements.

It’s about making it simpler for customers to access relevant savings and benefits through one card, while also creating a more personalised experience over time.

Club+ has been developed to be streamlined, with a digital card instantly available in the Club+, New World and PAK’nSAVE apps. Going digital provides the fastest, simplest access to the experience, while still retaining the option for a plastic card if preferred. The opportunities to scan, score and save stay true to each brand’s unique offering.

More opportunities to earn and spend Club+ Dollars

One Club+ Dollar is equal to NZD one. Customers earn Club+ Dollars on qualifying purchases at New World at a rate of 0.75 percent and at Four Square at a rate of 0.38 percent when they scan their Club+ card.  Club+ Dollars can be spent as a full or partial payment on groceries at New World, PAK’nSAVE and Four Square.

While PAK’nSAVE customers do not earn Club+ Dollars, they can spend Club+ Dollars earned at New World and Four Square. PAK’nSAVE will continue to focus on delivering low prices, with Club+ adding extra value through fuel discounts and personalised picks.

If a customer chooses to earn Airpoints, every five Club+ Dollars earned will automatically convert to five Airpoints and be credited to their nominated Koru account.

Goodbye to Clubcard

Club+ will replace New World Clubcard, which will be phased out over the coming months. Lawry said for over a decade, Clubcard has delivered savings for New Zealanders, and some people will be sad to say goodbye.

Existing Clubcard members can carry across their New World Dollar balances, shopping history and preferences when they join Club+.

Key dates

  • From the 18th of May, customers can join Club+. They can keep scanning their New World Clubcard to keep saving with Club Deals and earning New World Dollars, until the official launch on the 15th of June.
  • Customers can continue to scan their Clubcard until the 27th of July 2026 to access Club Deals, but can no longer earn New World Dollars.
  • 11.59 pm 26 July 2026, Clubcard officially closes. If a Clubcard member has not joined Club+, their New World Dollar balance will stay in place and transfer to Club+ Dollars if they subsequently join. Remaining balances expire 24 months after the last Clubcard transaction if they are not transferred.
