UK | Morrisons has opened a new Morrisons Daily store in Virginia Quay, providing a fresh and affordable shopping experience to local residents of East London.
The impressive 4,100 sq ft store is located in a busy part of London, which is surrounded by residential properties and a strong student population, with high commuter footfall from the nearby Docklands Light Railway station.
Ashit and Hitesh Patel run the store with their Executive Manager, Sivakumar S Pandian. The team has chosen to convert the store into a Morrisons Daily to take the business to the next level with the backing of a nationally recognised brand.
“Our store has always played an important role in serving the local community and we’re excited to take it to the next stage as a Morrisons Daily," said Pandian.
"Partnering with such a well-known brand means we can offer our customers more choice and value, while continuing to provide the convenient service they rely on us for every day.”
The new layout will provide locals with everyday essentials and the products they know, love and trust, as well as rewarding them through the popular More Card loyalty programme.
Victoria Lockie, Head of Wholesale Strategic Projects & Acquisitions at Morrisons, was delighted to expand the presence in London with the opening of the Virginia Quay store and to welcome new partners to the Morrisons Daily family.
She said that the store showcased the breadth and depth of Morrisons' own brand range and was a great example of how the franchise model supports independent retailers while bringing local customers even more of the great value, range and quality Morrisons is known for.
"The team have worked incredibly hard to ensure that the needs of their customers are met, enabling them to enjoy their local community store.”
Morrisons now has over 700 franchise stores operating in forecourts and local neighbourhoods across the UK.
