20 Minutes With Auda Finan, Savour

Auda Finan, Savour

Auda Finan, the founder and owner of Savour, revealed that she had noticed the increased interest and consumer demand for healthy eating and living habits. Non-dairy consumers and flexitarians are propelling the demand for high-quality plant-based foods that do not compromise taste.

"As dairy cheeses are one of the hardest foods to give up, it's essential the taste expectation is met, and Savour delivers this," said Finan.

Market indications revealed that home entertainment and celebrations had increased, and consumers have, in turn, become more discerning about buying quality, New Zealand-made plant-based foods.

Finan shared that the future demand for plant-based products would revolve around the product's economic features, health benefits, useability, and taste. These features position Savour well within the market. Finan described that the brand caters to three popular everyday plant-based kinds of cheese, including Casheta, un-marinated cubed feta, Cotta, cottage-style ricotta, and Butta, a creamy and salty butter.

The founder and owner of Savour hoped that the brand's range of plant-based cheeses would inspire and normalise plant-based alternatives, encouraging a movement towards a flexitarian and plant-based diet supported by a versatile range of premium plant-based products.

Furthermore, Finan stated that she hoped Savour would become Australasia's most recognised, innovative vegan creamery without compromising quality or natural ingredients.

Savour cheeses have been recognised and have received numerous awards from New Zealand Vegan Society and the New Zealand Artisan Food Industry, with two notable wins from the New Zealand Food Awards. As a self-confessed foodie, Finan takes pride that the cheeses are crafted from activated, cultured cashews high in protein, loaded with billions of probiotics for digestive health, and are New Zealand-made.

Finan stated there was a plant-based revolution, with plant-based food being more inclusive and a category with significant demand increases.

"Flexitarians are the largest sector showing the greatest growth potential, and as long as the taste is great, this sector will continue to be repeat buyers."

With consumers becoming more knowledgeable about the impact of their food choices and the desire to buy quality, New Zealand-made products with clean ingredients from companies whose values align with theirs, Finan is sure that the sector has the most significant growth potential.

"As long as the taste is great, this sector will continue to be repeat buyers."
