What is your company background? How did you start the business?
For the past 25 years, Baker Boys have been crafting a range of deliciously baked treats that include, slices, cookies, cakes and savouries. With a team of trade-qualified bakers, we’ve got it covered, from recipe development right through to production and quality control – guaranteed perfection in every bite.
"Based in Christchurch, New Zealand, we are a family business with passion and pride in supplying quality fresh and frozen baked goods wholesale to supermarkets and food distributors. Our story begins back in 1987 when blueberry muffins were all the rage.
Andrew set up a small retail bakery with just four staff making muffins and slices for the local market. Four years later, sister Sara and her husband Simon joined the team, and it wasn’t long before Baker Boys had 12 retail outlets. We’ve come a long way from our humble beginnings, but our commitment to producing top quality product remains the same."
What Is the current product range and variants, and how do these products stand out in the market?
"We are a bakery manufacturer, and we make baked goods such as Slice Biscuits Savouries for a selection of National and International customers."
Has there been any recent company news?
"Within the last two years, we have brought on board a new General Manager Dean Boston and CFO. We are currently expanding our plant to make more efficiency with new high-tech machinery within the factory. By doing this, we are aiming to be more competitive in the marketplace and create some new innovative bakery items for the National and International Market."
What are the plans for the business moving forward? Is there any expansion on the horizon?
"There are many areas of change that will impact the business over the next few years. Our strategy is designed to broaden our global reach so that we can mitigate the negative effects of change and amplify the positive."
Where are your products currently available to buy, and are you looking at or wanting to expand your availability?
"Nationally, our product is available in supermarkets in New Zealand in the bakery section. Internationally, we are in Woolworths and Coles Australia. We are always looking for a new opportunity to expand our horizons, and we have a fantastic team that love to create new products for our customers’ needs. At this present point in time, we are producing Hemp bar for the New Zealand market for The Brothers Green company."

"Everywhere – we love our products as they are high quality, affordable and consistently great tasting."
