BIOPAK HIGHLY COMMENDED AT LONDON AWARDS

Sustainable packaging company BioPak has received an honourable mention in the Ethical Corporation’s ninth Annual Responsible Business Awards in London.

Nominees included global companies like Unilever and Kimberly-Clark, so to mentioned was an exceptional achievement for the Australia-based brand. It was highly commended for its entry into the innovative compostable packaging range category.

“BioPak has created a real alternative to plastic cups integrating a circular economy approach by making them 100 percent biodegradable. This innovation certainly tackles the global plastic challenge today, it is scalable and can provide huge impact worldwide’, said Ethical Corporation Awards chair of the judging committee, Christine Diamente.

BioPak CEO Gary Smith was thrilled with the result, especially given the calibre of fellow nominees. The winner of the category was LIXIL Corporation, which produces a product series called SATO to address the global sanitation crisis.

BioPak’s range of compostable packaging is available in both Australia and New Zealand, and has plans to launch worldwide soon thanks to a new partnership with Swedish company Duni B.
