EASYJET FOUNDER LAUNCHED MEGA-DISCOUNT SHOP IN UK

EasyJet founder Stelios Haji-Ioannou has thrown down the gauntlet to budget supermarket chains Aldi and Lidl, launching a new mega-discount shop in UK. Offering basic, unbranded items at rock-bottom prices, the new easyFoodstore shop now sells 76 products, including sugar, teas, sardines, tomato ketchup and peach slices, at a reduced price of just 25p each; for example, a weekly shop for a family of four costs about £15. The 25p offer is part of a promotional month, at the end of which products could rise up to 50p.
The shop, opened under the motto ‘No expensive brands, just food honestly priced’, is located on Park Royal West, north London.
