Deforestation and Conversion-Free Policy

Kraft Heinz and its values have compelled the brand to be a global corporate citizen, give back to its communities, and lend expertise and resources to help address critical environmental and societal challenges.

One of Kraft Heinz’s company values is ‘We Do The Right Thing’, and everything the company does, grows from there. This includes its pledge to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, provide 1.5 billion meals to people in need worldwide by 2025, and make 100 percent recyclable, reusable or compostable packaging by 2025.

Kraft Heinz is committed to working within its operations and with its suppliers and business partners to achieve long-term transformation through initiatives aimed at positive climate, biodiversity, and water outcomes.

With this in mind, Kraft Heinz has announced its Deforestation and Conversion-Free Policy detailing its commitment to respecting forests and nature and eliminating deforestation and natural ecosystem conversion from its supply chain.

Developed with guidance from the Accountability Framework initiative guidance and the Science Based Target Initiative’s Forest, Land and Agriculture Guidance, the new policy includes long-term protection and remediation where necessary for priority raw materials, including palm oil, sugar, beef, dairy, cocoa, coffee, pulp, paper, and packaging.
