Tekni-Plex has released a new seal that allows customers to smell products without opening or affecting the quality of the product inside – Sniff Seal closure liners. The technology enables “scent permeation through an induction seal closure liner without affecting the seal or compromising the contents.”
Sniff Seal is compatible for use with cosmetic creams, deodorants and other personal care products in which scent is an influencing purchase factor. The seal also works to prevent people from trying the product if it is not labelled as a tester, preventing the contamination of the product. The Sniff Seal works excellently with dry food and beverage products such as coffee, tea or grated cheese as well.
“When a package is returned to the shelf in a compromised condition, it is no longer sellable. As a result, the retail industry experiences a significant amount of loss annually,” said Davis Andrulonis, senior VP, Tri-Seal.
