UK | Marks and Spencer Group plc (“M&S”) announced that Roger Burnley CBE will join the Board as a Non-Executive Director effective from the 1st of December 2025.
Burnley is the former CEO and COO of Asda and, before that, Retail & Operations Director at Sainsbury’s. He is currently a Non-Executive Director at Pets at Home Group plc.
“Roger brings extensive experience in the food retail industry and supply chain transformation, which will be invaluable as we enter the next phase of our plan to reshape M&S for growth,” said Chairman Archie Norman.
“He is a strong addition to the team and I am delighted to welcome him to the Board.”
Burnley will join the Audit & Risk and Nomination Committees at the same time as joining the Board. M&S confirms there is no further information required to be disclosed in accordance with UK Listing Rule 6.4.8(R).
“M&S is a much-loved brand which I have always admired as setting the standard in UK retail, and it is a privilege to be joining such an engaged Board,” said Burnley.
“Much progress has been made through the Reshaping for Growth strategy, but there remains so much opportunity, and I am looking forward to supporting the leadership team to capitalise on that in the years ahead.”
