SCOTLAND | M&S Glasgow Fort celebrated its 10th birthday in style this past weekend, as colleagues came together to commemorate a decade of providing excellent service to the local community.
Located at Glasgow Fort, the store has been a key part of this popular retail destination since its opening in 2015. The team of 200 colleagues celebrated the milestone with a special birthday event for customers and colleagues.
“Reaching our 10th anniversary is a fantastic achievement, and everyone on the team is incredibly proud. We are so grateful for the loyalty of our wonderful customers and the dedication of our colleagues, many of whom have been with M&S for much longer than the ten years we’ve been at Glasgow Fort,” said Jennifer Hodgkinson, Store Manager, M&S Glasgow Fort.
“Being a part of the Glasgow Fort community for the past decade has been a privilege. We look forward to many more years of serving our community with great quality customer service and our delicious and trusted value products.”
Highlighting the store's commitment to its people, 30 colleagues have been a part of the team since it first opened its doors a decade ago, marking ten years of service.
The store also benefits from the experience of many other colleagues who transferred from the Sauchiehall and Argyle Street branches to join the team when it opened, bringing with them even longer M&S careers.
Beyond their daily roles, the colleagues are actively involved in supporting the local community through partnerships with various organisations and charities. They strongly partner with FARE, a local charity based at Glasgow Fort and in the Easterhouse area.
For over a year, the store has worked alongside FARE, which strives to raise people’s aspirations, improve life chances and tackle poverty through community initiatives and development opportunities. The store has actively supported FARE by engaging with its young members interested in a retail career.
“For the past decade, M&S has remained a firm favourite among our shoppers, from their beloved food offerings to stylish, high-quality clothing and footwear for all ages. We look forward to the next decade and beyond,” said Phil Goodman, centre director at Glasgow Fort.
