M&S Douglas Unwraps Expanded Foodhall

UK&I | M&S has officially opened its newly expanded Foodhall in Douglas.

Following months of hard work to bring customers a fresh market-style shopping experience on the Isle of Man, the renewed Foodhall features a spacious new layout that brings the full range of M&S Food under one roof.

This expansion has created over 95 new jobs, including 31 permanent and 64 seasonal positions, growing the store team from 191 to up to 286 colleagues supporting all areas from food to fashion and operations.

Customers will find a significantly larger in-store bakery offering a wider selection of breads and pastries, including popular festive favourites like M&S’s award-winning Collection Mince Pies and brand-new Gingerbread Blondie Cookie Cup Pies.

The Foodhall also introduces a hot chicken counter for convenient, ready-to-eat meals, which has already proven to be a hit with Isle of Man customers.

The extended Foodhall hosts a cheese barge, an in-store flower shop, and an M&S Wine Shop, alongside more than 100 ‘Remarkable Value’ everyday essentials.

Store Manager Caroline Brand has been with M&S Douglas for ten years.

“We’re excited to welcome customers into a transformed Foodhall that puts great quality, trusted value and delicious food at the heart of everything we do,” she said.

“Our team has worked tirelessly to deliver this renewal in time for a fantastic Christmas shopping experience for the Isle of Man community. Throughout the works, we’ve been focused on minimising disruption and ensuring a smooth shopping experience.”

The wider store renewal continues with the relocation of the Kids department to the first floor and investment in the popular Fashion, Home, and Beauty departments.

These modernised spaces will showcase trusted brands such as GoodMove, Per Una, and Apothecary, with enhancements including fresh interior design features and improved fitting rooms.

The complete transformation of the Douglas store is expected to launch in spring 2026.
