M&S Launch Six London Stores In The Run Up To Christmas

UK | M&S has brought more M&S Food to more customers across the capital in time for Christmas, with six new or transformed stores opening between now and the end of the year.

This month has seen three launches: the opening of a brand-new 5,300 sq ft fresh-market-style food hall on Southampton Street in Covent Garden, and the reopening of M&S’s Temple Fortune and Wimbledon food halls following major transformations.

M&S’ brand-new Covent Garden foodhall will be followed by two additional openings in November, located by Clapham Common and on Fulham Broadway.

The openings are part of a GBP 90 million investment in London announced earlier this year, spanning six new foodhall openings and eleven renewals this financial year.

M&S’ renewed Chiswick store will also be launching before Christmas in early December. In total, the six new openings and renewal launches have created over 200 new jobs.

M&S’ renewals programme brings the very best of M&S to customers, delivering new features including in-store bakery & coffee counters, a market-style produce offer with fresh fruit and vegetables sourced from M&S Select Farms, as well as dedicated Flower and Wine shops and a transformed store environment.

"We want to be proud of every store we have across the capital and as we reshape for growth, our focus is opening new stores to grow our footprint but also renewing those stores where we can deliver a better shopping experience for our customers," said Thinus Keeve, Retail Director at M&S.

"It’s brilliant to have such a strong property pipeline across London in the months ahead. We want to bring more of that M&S magic to communities and on the commute, and we’re doing just that, just in time for the festive season.”

M&S Food at Paddington station, operated by franchise partner SSP will undergo a renewal next month.
