UK | Aldi has introduced paper packaging on its Everyday Essentials Porridge Oats in all UK stores. This means all its porridge oat products, including its Everyday Essentials, Organic, and Scottish Porridge Oats, are now free of plastic packaging.

The latest move on its Everyday Essentials Porridge Oats is expected to save around 57 tonnes of plastic annually.

Part of the supermarket’s target is to reduce plastic packaging by 50 percent by 2025, and it followed a switch to 100 percent recyclable cardboard packaging on all own-brand porridge pots last year.

“At Aldi, we are committed to reducing the use of plastic across our products. This latest change is another example of our ongoing progress,” said Luke Emery, Plastics and Packaging Director at Aldi UK.

“We know our customers want to make sustainable choices when they shop with us, which is why small steps like this can make a big difference.”
