UK | After months of anticipation, Marks & Spencer officially opened its new Plymouth Derriford store this month.
The M&S team gathered at the store entrance with the Store Manager, Sean Pearce, who was joined by the guest of honour, Dilys Tapper, Customer Assistant, to cut the ribbon and declare the store officially open.
Percy Pig was also on hand to greet customers as they experienced the store’s unique new features for the first time.
Located on Bravo Way in Derriford, the new 14k sq ft Foodhall with a generous retail park car park is ideal for more extensive family shopping.
The new store offers customers fresh market-style Foodhall, with displays brimming with great-quality, trusted-value produce from M&S Select Farms. It also features a show-stopping bakery offering fresh, daily-baked bread and pastries, including M&S Collection Sourdough made through a traditional 30-hour process and the exclusive M&S Yumnuts.
Customers will also enjoy a takeaway from the new M&S Coffee Counter next to the in-store bakery, a sensational selection of cheeses and a dedicated M&S Wine Shop.
Over 100 remarkable-value everyday staples will also be available across the store, price-bounded against critical competitors and with an M&S quality point of difference, all part of the retailer’s trusted value promise.
With the festive season just around the corner, M&S Plymouth shoppers will be able to stock up on the most magical Christmas food line-up, from the build-your-own Charcuter Tree to recently launched Choc Marks bars and Swiss Caramel and Milk Chocolate Clouds.
Store Manager Sean Pearce, who has worked at M&S for 12 years, soaked up the opening day celebrations.
“We are thrilled to officially open our brand-new Plymouth Derriford store today, twice the size of the old Crownhill store. The last few weeks have been so exciting for us all as we’ve seen the store take shape, and I’d like to thank everyone on the team for all their hard work in ensuring everything is ready for our loyal customers today,” said Pearce.
“The atmosphere in the store has been electric, and we love welcoming new and familiar faces through the doors. We really do encourage local shoppers to come down and try the store out for themselves – they won’t be disappointed.”
