The line between recruitment and brand marketing is getting harder to separate, and Dr. Bombay’s latest hire is designed to do both.
The ice cream brand co-founded by Snoop Dogg has partnered with global hiring and payroll platform Deel to recruit its first International Ice Cream Taste Tester, offering US$10,000 a month for a three-month contract.
The role is open globally and fully remote, giving Dr. Bombay a potentially wide pool of applicants while also extending the brand’s reach well beyond the markets where its products are currently sold.
Rather than looking for a trained food scientist or product developer, the company is prioritising cultural awareness, curiosity and an ability to identify emerging food and flavour trends.
That makes the appointment closer to a combination of consumer insight, product feedback and content creation than a conventional taste-testing position.
The successful applicant will regularly sample Dr. Bombay products, report back on flavours, trends and new ideas, and work with the brand on developing a Deel-themed ice cream flavour. Some travel and regular contact with the Dr. Bombay team will also be required.
“Dr. Bombay’s out here bringin’ flava from coast to coast and around the globe, from Walmart to 7 Eleven, Costco, Carrefour and beyond. And if you walk into your store and they ain’t got Dr. Bombay, tell ’em you want it!” said Snoop Dogg.
“From pints to Snoopsicles, bars and some new things cookin’, every bite has to hit just right. That’s why we linked up with Deel to find the next official Dr. Bombay taste tester. If you know flava when it hits, we want you in the mix.”
Dr. Bombay ice cream scientist Dr Maya Warren said the global search reflected the brand’s ambitions to appeal across different markets.
“At Dr. Bombay, we craft ice cream flavours everyone loves, everyone around the world, meaning we need someone on staff who can serve as our global tastemaker,” Warren said.
“I’ll take care of the science behind the scenes; you just need to bring curiosity, refined taste buds, and an appetite to have an impact on the future of Dr. Bombay.”
Applicants with an interest in food culture, content creation or brand-building are expected to have an advantage, while Snoop Dogg’s team will be directly involved in reviewing shortlisted candidates. Snoop Dogg will personally call the successful applicant.
For Dr. Bombay, the commercial value extends beyond whatever flavour feedback the successful candidate provides. The recruitment process itself creates social content, publicity and consumer participation around the brand, while Deel gets a highly visible demonstration of its ability to facilitate international hiring.
The companies also plan to create content around the successful applicant and their experience inside the Dr. Bombay business.
The initial appointment is limited to three months, although both companies have left open the possibility of further opportunities within Dr. Bombay’s marketing team.
Applications close 18 September 2026. Interested candidates can apply at deel.com/snoop.
