A REINVENTED CLASSIC

One of New Zealand’s most iconic chocolate treats has undergone a chilling transformation and can now be found in ice cream form.

Tip Top and Whittaker’s have created the ice cream New Zealanders’ have been dreaming about for decades and it will be appearing in freezers from today. Encased in Whittaker’s 5 Roll Refined Creamy Milk chocolate, with Tip Top chocolate ice cream and roasted peanuts on the inside, it is every bit the Kiwi icon reinvented as an ice cream bar.

“We’re very pleased to finally announce our latest collaboration with our friends at Whittaker’s. This is something we’ve wanted to create for Kiwis for such a long time – the best chocolate and ice cream is what dreams are made of," said Tip Top Director of Marketing and Innovation, Stephanie Stuart.

“Maurice Whittaker, my grandfather, invented the Peanut Slab in the 1950s and I’m sure he would be delighted to hear that it has become the New Zealand icon that it is today. Together we’ve reinvented a classic, and the ice cream is a very moreish treat!” said Holly Whittaker, co Chief Operating Officer of Whittaker’s.

When it comes to ice cream, Tip Top uses only fresh New Zealand milk and cream, all natural colours and flavours, and are 100 per cent committed to being Palm Oil free, just like Whittaker’s.

“With a product like Whittaker’s Peanut Slab being so quintessentially Kiwi, we’re really excited to be able to release it this week and can’t wait to hear what New Zealand thinks,” said Stuart.
