CAREER DEVELOPMENT AT FMCG

One hundred and thirty-five attendees of FGC’s Key Account Manager Speaker and Networking series showed the event is proving very popular. Themed on building a successful FMCG career, Brandon Lawry, GM of Liquorland, was the keynote speaker and shared insights from his career, challenging those attending to take personal responsibility and increase their awareness of where they wanted their careers to go.  A panel of FMCG senior leaders covered a specialist topic and took questions from the floor. Pernod’s Grocery Channel Manager, Janine Baldwin, explained what she looks for in a Key Account Manager and Shane Webby, Director of Twin Agencies, challenged those present to consider building diversity of experience early in their careers. Sharing her belief in developing clear plans, Tribe Recruitment’s Jenny Jones, also encouraged working to develop and attitude that leads to success. The event also gave an opportunity for Key Account Managers to network and ask personal questions with the speakers. The FGC Talent Working Group said they intend to hold two more events this year.
