Coalface Consulting has named Cookie Time Limited New Zealand as the number one FMCG distributor for the second consecutive year. The family-owned, Christchurch-based company beat out industry giants such as Coca-Cola and Tip Top to take the top spot.
Cookie Time Limited draws on the strength of its franchise network, comprising of 51 owners across the country, that represent, distribute and merchandise brands such as Cookie Time, OSM, Bumper and Em’s Power Cookies.
“This is an incredible validation for our franchisees, who own their own businesses and often travel huge miles in their van to keep our products on shelves. In the Coalface Consulting surveys, they’ve been measured against the big multinationals and come out on top. And they do it all themselves, without the teams of reps, delivery people and merchandisers that most multinationals have access to,” said Guy Pope-Mayell, Cookie Time Managing Director.
Coalface surveys are the benchmark for store-level industry performance, with annual surveys measuring the service level performance of more than 110 suppliers across the FMCG industry and around 1202 individual stores were surveyed.

But like everyone else, we’ve had rising costs, ingredient shortages, supply chain issues and labour shortages to deal with. As well as taking ou the distribution top spot, Cookie Time has also jumped from fifth place into the top three for Coalface’s Supermarket Stores survey for 2022.
