COUNTDOWN QUEENSTOWN VENTURES INTO SOFT PLASTIC RECYCLING

Following the lead of other stores across the country, Countdown Queenstown is now offering customers the opportunity to recycle soft plastics in store as part of the Soft Plastics Recycling Programme.

Since its inception in 2015, over 25 million tonnes of soft plastic have been recycled by customers – plastic that would have otherwise ended up in landfill.

“We have a number of waste minimisation policies in place, including the recent launch of our new recyclable meat trays which are rolling out around the country,” said Stuart Urbahn, Countdown Group Manager. “The soft plastic recycling programme is an important part of our commitment to minimise our impact on the environment.”

Countdown is expecting Queenstown to be big supporters of the programme.
