COUNTDOWN announced that its Waitangi supermarket will re-open, after signing a new long-term lease with the freehold land owner, Te Tii (Waitangi) B3 Trust (TTB3 Trust).
The Trust acquired the supermarket building mid April after a lengthy negotiation with the site’s former head lessee.
Acting Countdown Managing Director, Steve Donohue, says: “The Trust has been instrumental in making sure Countdown is able to provide a full-service supermarket for the local communities of Waitangi, Paihia, Russell and rural areas nearby.”
The Waitangi store is expected to be open to customers from late May after a refit and will employ approximately 25 team members.
