After more than a decade of producing award-winning cheeses, boutique cheesemaker Cranky Goat has announced it will close its doors.

The Blenheim-based company, known for its handcrafted goat cheeses, has faced significant challenges over the years, including three major weather events and the unprecedented disruption of COVID-19.

Despite these hurdles, Cranky Goat continued to deliver to chefs and customers across New Zealand with determination and passion.

In a Facebook post, the company expressed its gratitude to the hospitality sector, crediting chefs for transforming Cranky Goat cheeses into culinary masterpieces enjoyed nationwide.

Loyal customers were also acknowledged for their support and enthusiasm, which the business described as “the fuel that kept us going through thick and thin.”

“This isn’t the goodbye we ever imagined, but we leave with full hearts, immensely proud of what we’ve built together,” the company noted.
