Scott Davidson, Countdown's general manager buying and merchandise is to leave the New Zealand business at the end of 2019 to take on a new role as managing director of BWS, part of Woolworths' Endeavour Drinks business in Australia.
Davidson has led the buying team for the past two years and played a significant role in the work that the business is undertaking to transform, in particular, the way it works with its supplier partners. He has developed a buying team that is committed to the new ways of working and Natalie Davis, managing director, Woolworths NZ, is confident that these changes will endure.
"While we will all be sad to see Scott go, I am also proud to see him take up a senior leadership role at another Woolworth's brand," said Davis. "We will do our best to fill the role as soon as we can and make sure that we find the right person to continue to build on the great work that has been carried out by Scott and the team."
