FGC SME Forum Discussion

A Forum discussion has been organised by Mark Freeman, Chair of the FGC Small to Medium Enterprise Working Group. The event will run in two parts; Nick Hogendijk, a Managing Partner of Hexis Quadrant based in Australia, will speak via teams, and it will be followed by a 30-minute in-person discussion and networking opportunity.

Nick will share his thoughts on the grocery code of conduct currently being worked through by the New Zealand government (from 3 pm to 3.30 pm approx.)

  • Overview of the framework proposed to MBIE
  • Current market challenges that a Code would address
  • Why a Code of Conduct is not going to solve poor customer management
  • How the UK and Australian Codes fair presently
  • Q&A

Directly after this, the FGC invites SMEs to discuss any other topics or challenges facing us all, like, (from 3.30 pm to 4.30 pm approx.)

  • Current commercial pressures from increased costs and fast-moving currency
  • How to navigate the changing Foodstuffs model of more centralised control
  • How does working from home, hybrid & office affect you as well as any other
  • Any others the group wishes to raise or have the SME working group investigate further

For more information, contact the FGC team directly. The discussion will take place on Wednesday, October 26.
