FONTERRA GOES VIRTUAL IN CHINA TO LAUNCH NEW PRODUCTS

Fonterra have harnessed the latest in 360° virtual reality technology as part of their product launch at Food Ingredients China 2017, held in Shanghai. Fonterra launched three new products – Gold Whole Milk Powder, Tasty Cheese Powder and Butter Concentrate.

“We have developed these NZMP ingredients in response to strong customer demand for innovative, high quality dairy nutrition solutions,” said Teh-Han Chow, Fonterra President NZMP Greater China, South and East Asia. “China is an important market and it was great to launch the ingredients at Food Ingredients China, with many of our key Chinese customers in attendance.”

NZMP Gold Whole Milk Powder for UHT is designed for a longer shelf life while retaining its natural flavour, while NZMP Tasty Cheese Powder can be used in pasta sauces, home meals and dips. Butter Concentrate is made from cream and milk fat and can be used in a variety of milk products, adding a concentrated caramelised aroma and taste to foods.

Visitors to the NZMP stand at the show were treated to the NZMP Virtual Reality experience, using a headset to follow the journey of New Zealand dairy from its farm origins to the shipping process. Mr Chow said that the use of this technology only sought to enhance New Zealand’s reputation as a country of keen innovators and developers.
