FSNI APPOINT NEW GM SUPPLY CHAIN

After a global search to find the next GM Supply Chain, Foodstuffs North Island is pleased to advise that Jonathan Box will be joining the Supply Chain team on Tuesday, 5 June.

“Jonathan has many years of leadership experience around the globe, working for world-leading FMCG companies, in a broad range of roles. He started his career at Nestlé in Operational Performance positions, first in Sweden then in the UK," said Chris Quin CEO Foodstuffs North Island.

“After several years in senior Supply Chain, Marketing and Sales roles he moved to Cereal Partners Worldwide (a joint venture between Nestlé and General Mills) in Switzerland as Operations Director (including Supply Chain) for Northern Europe, Africa, Middle East, Israel, Turkey and Asia. We are excited about how he can bring his global view and experience to bear on our 100% New Zealand owned and operated co-operative.”

In 2014 the pull of New Zealand was too strong, and he relocated with his wife and daughter, taking up the Operations and Supply Chain Director role at Fonterra Brands. He then took responsibility for Business Transformation and was promoted to Acting Managing Director of the Fonterra Brands business.

Box joins the Foodstuffs North Island Co-op at an exciting time – where the business is on the verge of celebrating 100 years in the heart of every New Zealand community.  Foodstuffs have made some big changes over the past few years, guided by its purpose of making sure New Zealanders get more out of life.  The team has been working hard to improve efficiency and allow the business to keep prices low and quality and service high.

"I’m looking forward to taking the reins on our Supply Chain Transformation and leading and engaging our 1,000 strong Supply Chain team and the phenomenal work they do every day to support stores," said Box.

“We’re at a pivotal moment in the transformation of our supply chain and the engagement of the Foodstuffs team, so I’m aiming to bring my experience in multiple industries and locations, the right focus on leadership of people, and fresh energy to really make a difference both in Supply Chain and across Foodstuffs North Island as part of the Leadership team.”
